Oklahoma Raid: 100 Arrested
According to officials on Tuesday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol detained 120 individuals after a three-day immigration operation that targeted commercial truck drivers traveling along Interstate 40 to enter the state. Located in Beckham County, just east of the Texas border, the operation was conducted at a port of entry where eastbound semi-trucks must halt. Public Safety Commissioner Tim Tipton said that during a three-day blitz, troopers checked 520 drivers in collaboration with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The arrests are a component of Operation Guardian, a larger deportation strategy that Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt unveiled earlier this year. Tipton stated that ICE has given all Highway Patrol officers the authority to question, detain, and arrest illegal aliens as part of the operation.
