Churches and Schools Take Legal Action Against Immigration Policies

Teachers and religious leaders are now requesting that federal courts step in to help ease the anxiety and dread that the Trump administration’s harsh new immigration-detention policy has caused among immigrant communities. A number of religious organizations, including Quakers, Jewish congregations, and Mennonites, have filed lawsuits against the Trump administration over the policy shift. Denver Public Schools sought a federal judge on Wednesday to prevent the shift, claiming that children are afraid to attend class, in what seems to be a first-of-its-kind filing.
