Deadly Shooting at Dallas ICE Facility
An “act of targeted violence” and “an attack” on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement were blamed by federal authorities for the shooting that occurred Wednesday morning at an ICE immigration detention facility.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, a shooter opened fire “indiscriminately” at the ICE headquarters and struck a “van in the sallyport where the victims” were located. Two detainees were injured, and one was killed. Mexico’s foreign ministry reported that one of the hospitalized individuals was a Mexican national. According to authorities, the suspect’s death was caused by “a self-inflicted gun shot wound.”
