Alabama Enacts Stringent Immigration Laws: Key Changes and Impacts

Three immigration legislation that target undocumented immigrants and those who help them were advanced by the Alabama Senate on Thursday. Together, the proposals would prohibit the issuance of driver’s licenses from at least two states to illegal immigrants, prohibit the transportation of undocumented immigrants into Alabama, and mandate that law enforcement obtain the fingerprints and DNA of migrants who are being held in custody.
