Pam Bondi Sues NY on Immigration

Attorney General Pam Bondi declared Wednesday that the Justice Department is initiating legal action against the state of New York, Governor Kathy Hochul, and State Attorney General Letitia James concerning immigration enforcement. Bondi pointed out certain claims in the federal complaint, such as that New York state officials are legally required to notify undocumented immigrants when federal agents request information about their immigration status. During the news conference, the attorney general claimed that New York’s laws illegally hinder state and federal law enforcement from implementing immigration law.
