Permanent Resident Card: Can I-131 Be Revoked?

Do I need the I-131 "Advance Parole" if I already have a green card?

If you have already received your green card, you may be wondering if you still need I-131 Advance Parole. The answer is no. Once your green card application (I-485) has been approved, you no longer need I-131 to travel outside the United States.

However, if you plan to stay out of the country for more than six months, you will need to file a new I-131 to obtain a re-entry permit. This is important to maintain your permanent resident status.
