The AG for Oklahoma is still working to bring back the state's immigration laws
In an effort to get HB 4156—a legislation that makes it illegal for immigrants to enter the state—reinstated, Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond is submitting an appeal to a federal court. Drummond sticks to his previous justifications for House Bill 4156: In order to combat what he refers to as a “unprecedented onslaught” of criminal behavior brought on by illegal immigration via the southern border, local law enforcement in Oklahoma must be given the authority to arrest anybody without proper immigration status. “Cause of action” and standing to file a lawsuit in federal court are lacking, he continues.
