NVC Case Transfer to Consulate Timeline
When does National Visa Center send my case file to the consulate for interview?
The National Visa Center (NVC) is responsible for pre-processing immigrant visa cases before they are sent to a U.S. embassy or consulate for an interview. Once the NVC has received all the required documents and fees for your immigrant visa case, it will review your file to ensure that it is complete and ready for an interview.
If your file is complete and ready for an interview, the NVC will send your case file to the appropriate U.S. embassy or consulate. The embassy or consulate will then schedule an interview with you and send you a letter or email with the date and time of the interview.
It’s important to note that the processing times for immigrant visa cases can vary greatly, and the actual processing time for your case may be shorter or longer than the average processing time.
If you have not received an email notice from the NVC or the embassy or consulate about your immigrant visa case, you can contact the NVC customer service center for more information.
If you have any questions about the process or if you need assistance with your immigrant visa case, it’s a good idea to speak with one of our immigration attorneys.
