On October 19, 2023, the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) was updated to allow citizens and nationals of Israel to apply to travel to the United States for tourism or business purposes for up to 90 days without first obtaining a U.S. visa. Citizens of Israel with valid B1/B2 visas can continue to use their visas for travel to the United States until expiration. Israeli citizens traveling under VWP require a round-trip or onward ticket departing the United States. Under the Visa Waiver Program, eligible Israeli citizens must have a biometrically enabled passport book.
