Trump Admin Imposes $1,000 Parole Fee

 As part of a clause in President Donald Trump’s tax and spending deal, immigrants who are granted parole to enter the United States will have to begin paying $1,000 as of Thursday.

As they look for a way to stay in the nation legally, immigrants who are asking for temporary authorization to come and reside in the United States are the target of the proposal. It also coincides with a steep drop in parole approvals and an increase in pending applications.

Although it has been harder to enter the nation on parole during Trump’s second term, some immigrants, such Afghans and Ukrainians who left their countries’ wars, are still eligible for temporary authorization to reside in the United States. The cost won’t apply to anyone returning from short-term trips or those requesting entrance into the nation to obtain medical care, attend a funeral, or take part in a law enforcement investigation.
