State Department conducted a temporary pilot program to allow H1B visa holders to pick up their visa in the United States. This benefitted a wide range of employers, including those from academia, hospitality, retail, manufacturing, tech companies, and the financial sector. They intend to examine the process and results and consider how they can improve and expand the program to a wider range of applicants residing in the United States. Although the program appears successful for the first time it was implemented, there have reports that there were several issues, such as clumsy workflows, payment issues, and eligibility issues.
