The Supreme Court approved the Trump administration’s decision to revoke Venezuelans’ Temporary Protected Status on Monday. The two-paragraph, unsigned decision sets the stage for the White House to remove legal safeguards for up to 350,000 migrants. This action is anticipated to hasten deportations and increase anxiety in immigrant communities already shaken by increased enforcement. The Trump administration has often been reprimanded in court for sending migrants abroad without following the proper procedures, demonstrating a broad propensity to push the boundaries of deportations.  According to the Department of Homeland Security, it is getting ready to act quickly following Monday’s directive.  “There will be deportations right away,” DHS official Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News. The court’s order lacked a legal justification, which is typical in emergency situations. The actual legal dispute has not ended.  A full hearing at a federal court in California, where a judge initially stopped the termination of TPS, was originally planned for July; however, following last week’s Supreme Court decision, the date has been moved to May 29.
